THE MOJOMATICS - DON'T PRETEND THAT YOU KNOW ME CD

Is the time of feelings and magic over? In an era when music seems to have already given everything that could be experienced, discovered or heard, is it still possible to feel emotions for something?

There are two ways. The first is to pursue the prosperous past, reproposing its sounds and stylistics stereotypes, which often times leads to a mere revival act, if not to a sad masquerade parody.

The second way is to try and merge the best of both the present and the past, equipped with generous doses of great passion, in order to create something with distant and elegant roots but still exciting at the same time. The Mojomatics drive this road on the fast lane.

After hundreds of concerts around Europe, from the most infamous port city bars to clubs packed with 5000 people and back, they forged their reputation on the constant word of mouth of the audience…who wanted more.

After two albums released on European indie label Alien Snatch, the flower has blossomed further a field with the release of their latest full length ‘Don’t Pretend That You Know Me’. Recently touring the US where they shared stages with The Black Lips, Rocky Erickson, Jay Reatard and The Dirtbombs among others, The Mojomatics are fast becoming one of the coolest new names in garage rock.

Well, garage might not be the right term as they effortlessly heap together hillbilly blues, old country, folk and bluegrass, inject it with the melody of British Invasion pop, and fire it all out with the breakneck energy of the best garage/punk/rock n’ roll.

"Such songs as `Wait a While,' `Miss Me When I'm Gone,' and `Down My Spine' are simply amazing." Rolling Stone, Italy

"Damn best record I've heard in a long, long time." Maximum Rock n Roll, USA
